What We Believe

We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the verbally inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, the supreme and final authority in faith and life.

We believe in One God, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah, was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, true God and true Man, that He died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and, that all who believe in Him are justified on the grounds of His shed, innocent blood.

We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God.

We believe in the doctrine of original sin, that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and therefore sin, not because they commit a sin, but because it is their nature to sin.

We believe that all who receive by faith, the Lord Jesus Christ, have been born again of the Holy Spirit and have become children of God. Saving faith is evidenced by a life of repentance and sanctification.

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of Jesus, His ascension into heaven, and in His present life there as our High Priest and Advocate, and that He is coming again.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost.

We believe in reliance upon the Holy Spirit for the illumination of God’s Word, and for protection from the devil and his influence.

We believe the Holy Spirit dispenses spiritual gifts as he sees fit for the edification of the church body and the empowerment of believers for holy living.
